Ashley Sharp is a lifelong resident of Prince George’s County and a University of Maryland graduate. In college, Ashley was a known campus leader and has continued her leadership through her sorority, Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. Following graduation, she served as a statewide coordinator guiding and advising undergraduate and alumni chapters. In 2017, she received the Humanitarian Award from the Alpha Delta Alumnae Chapter of Maryland. Later that year, she was nationally recognized as “Political Activist Sister of the Year.”
She is now a national member of the Political Education Initiative Committee where she advocates on behalf of her sorority at all levels of lawmaking. As a member, she advocated on Capitol Hill during the first annual “Lambda Hill Days” where the committee met with Congressional representatives to discuss concerns of the Latino community.
Ashley continues to lead speaking engagements regarding topics such as voter education and organizing-for-action at universities throughout the DMV. Ashley’s passion to serve is forever growing, starting from her time as a college intern at the Maryland General Assembly to returning a few years later as a chief of staff to her tenure as secretary of the Prince George’s County Young Democrats. She recently became the Vice President of Government Affairs to the Young Democrats of Maryland’s statewide board.
One year after college, she founded her business, the Resurgence Consulting Group, which assists non-profits, entertainment companies and government agencies in taking their visibility and growth to the next level. Commodities Worldwide International, Inc. and Wanda Durant “The Real MVP™” Charity are two of many of her clients.
