Joshua D. Dixon is a native of Orlando, FL and currently works as a business finance manager within the Department of Defense (DOD) Navy’s VA Class Submarine Program. In this role, he provides business and financial management support in cost estimation, preparation and justification in DOD planning, programming, budgeting and execution.
Over the past nine years, Joshua has served as co-chairman and mentor of the Manhood Rites of Passage (MROP) mentoring ministry at Ebenezer AME Church. In this capacity, he oversees the planning and operation of all activities for the MROP ministry alongside the co-chairman of Mentee Empowerment. This 18-week Saturday program prepares African-American boys aged 11 to 16 for the responsibility of adulthood and enhances their self-respect, self-confidence and leadership qualities. In addition, MROP provides intensive training in areas of team building, public speaking, and conflict management.
Joshua is an active member of the OLA Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. where he served as chapter treasurer and current chapter financial secretary. Joshua received his bachelor’s in business administration from Florida A&M University in 2004. After more than ten years of work experience, he recently decided to pursue a master’s in public administration with a concentration in public financial management at American University, and currently maintains a 3.7 GPA. Joshua is a proud public servant who believes in the impact positive role models play in the lives of our youth.
