Kayla Anne Agonoy
Kayla Agonoy embodies the phrase “bloom where you are planted.” Kayla is the Deputy Director of ECO City Farms (ECO), a nonprofit educational urban farm. She is deeply connected to the towns where ECO’s farms are located, allowing her to connect her passion for the environment and food justice to her roots. She began her career at ECO as a farm apprentice in 2014, learning about all aspects of urban agriculture, and later became involved in the educational programs and organization operations.
Kayla is a graduate of the Prince George’s County Public School System. She now engages youth within the county through the summer youth program, farm tours, farm-to-school sessions, after-school programs, and volunteering opportunities. These educational programs highlight immersive, hands-on learning experiences about farming, food, the environment, and health.
Kayla received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from Salisbury University in 2014. Beyond ECO City Farms, Kayla serves on the Berwyn Heights Green Team and regularly volunteers for community events.
