Kailyn Cage has a primary background in Product Development, Mechanical Design, and Data Driven Modeling and Design. As a PhD candidate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Maryland, College Park, Kailyn seeks to engage in research that improves the traditional product development process through the incorporation of reliability, performance, human device interaction, and human variability in the product design process.
Kailyn is also a founding member of a tech start-up company based out of Baltimore that provides software solutions to clients. She currently holds two provisional patents on user-centered improvements to consumer products.
With a life mission to “pay it forward,” Kailyn has a goal to inspire and adequately prepare young minority students for careers in science and engineering.
