Kassie M. Edwards

Kassie M. Edwards is an advocate on sexual assault, educational reform, and social change within her community. She has lent her talents for several years as an informal educator, mentor, victim advocate, Urban League Social Committee chair, AmeriCorps volunteer, and White House volunteer.

Edwards is presently assistant to the director of the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC. She serves on the Board of Directors for the DC Rape Crisis Center as chair of the Fundraising committee. She also spiritually serves her community as the young adult ministry leader at Restoration Praise Center in Bowie, Maryland.

Originally from St. Petersburg, Florida, Edwards received her bachelor’s degree in African American studies from Florida State University and her master’s degree in public administration from Washington Adventist University. When she isn’t working, she likes to cook, read about black history, and write poetry.
