Amber C. Hendricks
Amber C. Hendricks was appointed deputy director of the Prince George’s County Office of Management and Budget in September 2015. In this role, she assists in the development and execution a $3.5-billion operating budget and a $3-billion capital improvement program. She started her professional career working for Prince George’s County government in July 2004.
She has worked for the county during the past eleven years in various capacities in the Office of the County Executive, physician Office of Management and Budget, and the Prince George’s County Council. Prior to her appointment as deputy director, Amber served as the special assistant to the Deputy Chief Administrative Office (DCAO) for Budget, Finance, and Administration. In this capacity, she worked with the DCAO to oversee nine county agencies and worked to implement the budgetary and economic development priorities of the county executive.
Amber is a native of Prince George’s County. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Spelman College and a master of arts degree in urban affairs and public policy from the University of Delaware. She also is a member and serves as treasurer of the Maryland Chapter of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators.
