Leelannee K. Malin
Leelannee K. Malin is a communications specialist with more than 15 years of experience in the communications industry. Her professional credits include projects with the National Football League Players Association, IMPACT, the Bottom Line Sports Show on Sirius XM, the Miss USA franchise, professional athletes, and government agencies and nonprofit organizations. As the owner of Malin PR, a public relations consulting practice, she provides services in the sports and entertainment, nonprofit, and corporate communications sectors, while specializing in brokering community partnerships in the educational and sporting arenas.
When not serving as a PR practitioner, Malin serves as an adjunct professor and trainer, facilitating lecture series about leadership, communication skills, and college access at public high schools, colleges, and universities. Her research and academic portfolio has garnered her Bowie State University’s Communications Chairman’s Award 2004, selection to the 2006 Teachers as Scholars program at the University of Maryland, College Park, the National Capital Area’s College Summit Educator of the Year 2010 award, and the 2010 Prince George’s County Maryland Teacher of the Year Semifinalist award.
In January 2015, Malin will launch “theprettyPhDProject,” which is a training program for female youth aspiring to attain professional degrees and careers in law and public policy, communications, education, and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. A graduate of Clark Atlanta University, Malin obtained a bachelor’s degree in mass communications, a master’s degree in organizational communications–public affairs from Bowie State University, and a PhD in mass communications media studies from Howard University.
