Erica Shauntelle Bannerman

Erica Shauntelle Bannerman has worked as a sustainability professional and environmental scientist for more than 15 years in the public and private sectors. She is an expert in policy development, strategic planning, regulatory enforcement, and project management for energy, climate change, green building, and other sustainability initiatives.

In her current role as energy manager for Prince George’s County, she was appointed by county executive Rushern L. Baker III to serve on the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) Climate, Energy, and Environment Policy Committee. In 2014 and 2010, she was appointed by the Environmental Protection Agency’s previous administrator, Lisa Jackson, and current Administrator Gina McCarthy to serve on the National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy and Technology.

In this role, Bannerman helps shape and develops national policy to advance the Environmental Protection Agency’s priorities related to sustainability and environmental protection. Moreover, she serves as a member the US Department of Energy, Minorities in Energy Initiative (MIE) to increase minority participation in the energy sector and is a board of directors member for Dreaming Out Loud, Inc.
