VaLiesha Brown is a member of O’Malley, Miles, Nylen & Gilmore P.A.’s Administrative Law and Government Relations Practice Group; she concentrates her practice in land use and zoning, government relations, and administrative proceedings. Prior to practicing law, VaLiesha developed a strong background in research and problem-solving as the law clerk for the Honorable Robert C. Nalley, Associate Judge of the Charles County 7th Judicial Circuit.
VaLiesha is a graduate of Howard University School of Law, where she was a merit fellow, a J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association scholar, and a Public Interest Law Society scholar. While in law school, VaLiesha was president of the Goler T. Butcher international moot court team and a student attorney in the criminal justice legal clinic. Admitted to practice in Maryland, VaLiesha is active in the Maryland State Bar Association, the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association, and the Prince George’s and Charles County Bar Associations.
VaLiesha is also an alumni interviewer with the DC metro affiliate of Education Pioneers, a national organization placing top talent in education-related careers; she is currently assisting in the selection of the 2013 fellowship class. VaLiesha is active as a mentor with the Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter High School mentoring program. At Thurgood Marshall, VaLiesha works directly with a high school sophomore to help her navigate high school and prepare for college admissions. As she continues to practice law, VaLiesha has plans to become more involved in the community, with a continued focus on education.
