Kimberly Rains, Pharm.D serves as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps as a Pharmacist and is stationed at the Food and Drug Administration in Silver Spring, Maryland. She resides in Fort Washington with her husband and two children. Dr. Rains hails from Portsmouth, Virginia. She received her B.S in Chemistry from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. She worked as a chemist for three years in the pharmaceutical industry before moving to Prince George’s County to attend Pharmacy School at Howard University. She was awarded a Doctorate in Pharmacy in 2001. Combining her love for science and role as a Public Health Service Officer, Dr. Rains plans, facilitates, and participates in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities throughout the county.
