Danielle Jennings, a former foster youth, formed Blessed Haven Inc., a nonprofit for youth transitioning out of foster care in the DMV area. While in the foster system she served as member of the Maryland Foster Youth Leadership Board. During her tenure at Marymount University, she became active in politics and the legislative field. She also served as President of College Democrats and in 2000, addressed the DNC to gather votes in Florida during the controversial Bush-Gore election. She served as the youngest intern on record for the U.S. Supreme Court, and worked with the USDOJ, SECAF and the U.S. Navy as one of the youngest senior policy analysts while maintaining community activities such as serving as a member of the GW Hospital Women’s Board. As Blessed Haven, Inc.’s Executive Director, Danielle actively mentors youth across the United States. The newest initiative – a Cultural Immersion and Community Accountability Program – works to encourage mutual respect between the community and foster and troubled youth.
