Nigel Angelo Traylor
Dr. Nigel A. Traylor is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, but has been a Prince George’s County resident for the past several years. He is the Principal of Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, Maryland, and has been committed to building relationships within the community and maintaining the commitment to providing students with a well-rounded education. Dr. Traylor is an innovative educator who personally strives to help each and every person he encounters to reach his or her God-given potential with compassion and dignity. He is dedicated to the continued academic success as well as the social emotional well-being of every student and colleague that he encounters. His positive attitude balanced with his humility are marks of his excellence as an educator and it is these qualities that inspire colleagues and students alike. Not only is Dr. Traylor an accomplished scholar, but he is considered an exemplary model of leadership, a visionary, and strategic thinker and is a sought-after presenter and speaker in the field of education. Dr. Traylor has served in many administrative and leadership roles throughout his career. He holds several degrees, including a Doctor of Education with a specialization in educational and organizational leadership from Nova Southeastern University, a Master of School Leadership degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Certificate in Advanced Education Leadership from Harvard University. As an artist and musician Dr. Traylor also holds bachelor's and master’s degrees in music specializing in vocal performance. Dr. Traylor is a member of the American Research Association, Association of School Administrators, Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, Music Educators National Conference, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Dr. Traylor is intentional about continuing to truly be a positive role model within the Prince George's County community.
