Essence Moore


Essence Moore is the Founder of That’s So Girly! Inc., a nonprofit organization that mentors girls ages 12 to 17; the program is designed to provide tools to young girls that will help them make positive choices and decisions in all areas of their life. Essence is a native of Washington DC, spending her later years in Prince George’s County. She is a graduate of the Prince George’s County Public School system. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Maryland University College and a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership/Administration from St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Essence has taught for the Prince George’s County Public School system, where she received an award for being “New Teacher of the Year.” A firm believer in giving back, Essence used her passion for dance to create opportunities for young people in the Prince George’s County area. She has taught and continues to teach in many places, which includes the Washington Redskins Junior Cheerleaders. Growing up, her parents always instilled in her to work hard in every avenue of your life. She is passionate about young people and helping them to strive for greatness.

Essence serves as a member of nonprofits Goodie Girl Bags and I Hear Seniors.
