Ashley Elaina McFarland
Ashley Elaina McFarland, Esq. is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. She received a BA in Psychology from Hampton University in 2006. She received a JD from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2009. Ashley moved to Prince George’s County in the fall of 2009 to pursue a legal career in public service, representing children in foster care.
Over the years, Ashley has become an active participant in her community at large. She has joined and volunteered in various capacities in several legal and faith-based organizations. She has given to the community in a myriad of ways, including volunteering at legal clinics designed to assist with expungements, contempt cases, and consumer protection. Ashley has also helped to plan an annual “Ask A Lawyer event” for community members and an annual scholarship tea that provides scholarships for women of color in law school.
Ashley’s passion lies in working with youth. For the past eight years, she has volunteered as cheer coach with a recreational league in the county. She, through one of her bar associations, provides programming to young ladies in a juvenile detention center. She has also spoken to and with youth at various schools and facilities in the area.
Currently, Ashley serves as an attorney in public service. In her free time, she enjoys playing recreational soccer.
